What makes a Thanksgiving table feel intentional? No, its not the turkey! It is truly all about the ambiance and feeling of a space. Whether you want to be laid-back or a little more formal, these Thanksgiving table goods will you help you achieve my signature farm to table look.

Here are a few tips & tricks when decorating your tabletop:

Not sure how to incorporate vintage? Save it for dessert and serveware. It’s less formal and can add texture and interesting patterns to a full table of pies, crumbles and holiday treats. Most importantly, buy the vintage that you fall in love with. You don’t have to commit to a vintage place setting. Informal gatherings, charcuterie and desserts are all fantastic ways to bring interest to a gathering by using your favorite vintage pieces.

Holiday trend …Swap out your floral centerpiece for organic matter like a blue Hubbard squash, a clay or wooden bowl full of pomegranates, or small piles or sprinkling of acorns or seed pods. Add interesting candleholders with textural or plain tapers. Using organic matter with found pieces inspire simple textures, rich hues and vintage patterns. Don’t forget: you don’t have to keep the taper size you buy. Cut the bottom of your taper to add different heights. A 4-6” taper on a tall candle holder can help balance a tabletop when mixed with shorter versions. And ‘stick-um’ putty for those wobbly candle holders!

How to achieve rich hues on your tabletop? Natural dyes and fruits and vegetables. You don’t have to swap out your favorite crisp plaid or check. Add a rich ochre or deep pinecone napkin. It will elevate and play off the perfect plaid and create a visual experience with different tones.

Love neutrals? If you can’t stay away from white, don’t. Embrace all of the neutrals and build a table from every deep rich white you can find. Cream, bone, oat, milk and beige. Beige is that warm tan step away from a grey bone that can ground all of the whites with its earthy feel. It leads way to branches, pods, nuts and shells. In this case, you could incorporate vintage cutlery or clear cut glass if you didn’t want to commit to a pattern. Natural dyes can also be a way to stay neutral and experiment with a touch of rich color.
